Man, what a fantastic end to our stay in Cape Town. As the day was blazingly hot, Johannes planned a trip to Cape Point where the air is cooler and the views magnificent. We were picked up right at our appartment and we set off. The day flew past and we loved the positive energy, great stories connecting past with the current days and just fun exploring the southern tip of Cape Town. Thanks for the great adventures Johannes!

I was visiting Cape Town in September ‘22, and had a wonderful time with Johannes, he knew all the spots I would never have found on my own, and took me on a couple of days touring. He’s also great with the braai! Well worth it, especially for someone who didn’t have a clue where to go or what to see. He made a good trip great.
We visited Cape Town for 4 days as a first step before a booked safari. We were interested in exploring the city and wanted to learn as much as we could about the history, architecture, food, unique natural environment, and the people as we could. We booked three days of tours with Johannes and he met all of our expectations and more. We even managed to work in a day of wine tasting guided by Johannes in an area near Cape Town that easily rivals the beauty of Napa Valley.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Johannes. The tour was in a very comfortable vehicle. The Chapman’s Peak drive was simply spectacular and Cape Point did not disappoint. Meeting the penguins at Boulders beach was a highlight and ending the tour in the botanical gardens was a relaxed end to the day in the most beautiful surroundings. Johannes knows his stuff. Lots of interesting facts and info throughout the day. Great recommendations and tips, and an itinerary that was flexible and well thought out. Thanks for a lovely day out!
Seeing Cape Town, the right way!What a great day out with Johannes of CoolCapeTravel. I had been to Cape Town before but visited again with a good friend of mine. Johannes is a fount of knowledge about all things Cape Town and South Africa. His enthusiasm for Cape Town is very engaging, without being excessive. The trip was really well paced. There is obviously a lot to see, but we never felt rushed or that we were missing something. This was a view of Cape Town and the surrounding areas that really gave us the feeling of immersion without being overwhelmed. From beginning to end, Johannes was regaling us with stories that put a much different and more genuine light on Cape Town and its history. Obviously most anyone will know the headlines of the struggles that the country and its people have faced over the years, but hearing Johannes talk about it made it personal and broke down some of the stereotypes that I had fallen prey to. Some of the highlights for me were the drive up Chapman’s Peak which is truly stunning, the penguins at Boulders Beach and ending the day at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Even though the gardens weren’t in full bloom, it was still amazing to see the breadth and diversity of the flora in South Africa. Being a keen gardener, it was a big plus for me. But Cape Town has something for everyone. You just have to discover it. And Johannes is the right person to help you do that! Johannes was very prompt when he arrived to pick us up. His car is very comfortable and valet clean. His local knowledge of roads and traffic patterns meant we rarely encountered any delays. All in all, a really great day out. If you’re gong to see Cape Town then let Johannes show it to you!
We had a lovely and relaxing day and felt very well looked after and comfortable in Johannes’ capable hands. The tour was great and we enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of the Cape. I especially loved meeting the penguins as well as the gardens, truly spectacular. It was an effortless and comfortable tour. Johannes is an enthusiastic guide that grew up in South Africa so he has many fun and fascinating stories about the history of SA. Would love to have done a tour of the winelands with him too but unfortunately we did not have enough time on this trip. Can’t wait to come back!
